The CLI provided support to the annual Ladner Carol Ships parade on Dec 9 & 10. Delta Lifeboat had a choir on board and both were decorated in Christmas lights; however, both vessels were available for SAR duties if required. Friday was very windy 20-25 knots at least and raining hard. Saturday was less windy but still raining. Our crews enjoyed some festive camaraderie after the event at Ladner Lifeboat Station.
Society Christmas dinner and fundraiser – Nov 2022
On 30 Nov 2022, the CLI hosted its annual crew and society member appreciation dinner and fundraiser. Supporters of the CLI were also welcomed. This year’s dinner at the Beach Grove Golf Club in Tsawwassen raised a little over $11000 with a big shout-out to Tsawwassen Legion #289 and Gulf and Fraser Credit Union for their generous gifts. A snowfall did have our numbers down a bit, but overall a fantastic evening.

Chum Fishery Patrol and Tow – Oct 2022
On 23 Oct 2022, during a chum fishery patrol, the Delta Lifeboat received a call from CG Radio about a black disabled vessel (possibly a SeaDoo) near S23.
The RHIB was sent to locate and found the vessel close to Woodwards Landing. A low line was passed, and the vessel was towed until meeting Delta Lifeboat which towed it to Captains Cove Marina, where the RHIB took over and assisted the vessel to its slip.
Thanksgiving Long weekend Safety Patrol – Oct 2022
The CLI conducted Thanksgiving long weekend safety patrols on 10 Oct 2022. Fraser Lifeboat deployed in the morning and Delta Lifeboat covered the afternoon period with a brief overlap for both vessels. A storm was expected but didn’t materialize for the better part of the day. With a new crew member on Fraser L/B, this presented an opportunity to deploy the x-boat and do some heaving line practice. Two distress calls were heard but they were far outside our area of operations. This was a fairly quiet weekend.
